YUCCA FOREST

Yucca Forest was a site-specific installation for the Museum of Art + History (MOAH) “Jewel Box” gallery. On a series of windows measuring 10 x 40 feet overall, 18 approximately 10 foot high Joshua tree silhouettes cut out of white vinyl were clustered together on the glass, forming a blooming desert forest. Looking close-up from inside the museum, viewers were be able to see the abstracted and amorphic shapes that formed the individual trees; seen from the street below, the silhouetted yuccas overlapped each other and created visual depth that was ever-changing depending upon the light and where one stood.
